About me

Hi!

I'm Ryan Herrin, a product designer creating impactful user experiences in the enterprise world. With 4 years of hands-on experience, I transform complex challenges into user-centric solutions that drive business success.

In my previous position at VMware, I led design and research efforts in key areas like the global header and pioneered the development of a search feature from scratch. Additionally, our innovative solution within commerce led to our team being awarded as overall winners in VMware's Design Borathon competition.

One of my key strengths is my ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. I firmly believe that great design is a result of collective effort, where input from engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders is essential to creating products that truly resonate with users.

Hobbies

Freediving

I started freediving in 2019, learning with a friend as a way to safely cope with social distancing during COVID. It has turned into a large part of my life as my love for the ocean has grown. Now I regularly go diving, even in the winter!

Triathlons

I recently completed my first triathlon and loved it! The training was brutal, but the community is a blast and I forgot how fun it is to compete against others! I am currently training to complete my first half ironman!

Sewing

The idea of sewing hasn't always been appealing, but as I get more into fashion, I have started seeing clothes/bags I want to make. I started with a mini duffel bag and working up the courage to start on a hoodie!
